thanks to all ,who responded to my last questions, i was choosing between the 4200and the 2710. after reviewing all your input i think i'm leaning towards the jd4400 . now i'm wondering if the 4400 has the same axel problem as the 4300and if so, how can i tell before purchase, also what would be a good price for a 4400with , backhoe and loader (is their a comparable kubota)

Mike,
You said in your 1st post that you were looking for something to maintain and landscape your 2 acre lawn. No offense, and it is your money, but don't you think that even the 4200 was overkill for this task? How nice of a lawn do you want, are you going to mow with this? The heavier the machine, the tougher it can be on you lawn. Just throwing another point of view at you. If you have a good dealer near you, don't hesitate to look at New Holland. JimBinMI ....

thanks for the link chris (great website)i almost pulled the trigger on that
deal, buying a tractor is almost as bad as buying a car.that quote was for a HST
and no mid mower. for the 4400 with the same options, they wanted 33,000
must be that added surcharge for living in the northeast. ....
